Saturation patrols; ENDWI in New Mexico

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – In order to keep the roadways safe across Cibola County, area law enforcement agencies are running saturation patrols, putting a stop to drivers that may be driving intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

Bomb threat

GRANTS, N.M. – On September 22 the Cibola County Government complex, which also houses the Smith’s grocery store on 700 Roosevelt Avenue in Grants, New Mexico, was evacuated for the third time in three months because of a bomb threat.

3.6 percent rise in COVID-19 cases

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – Cibola County is seeing cases of the COVID-19 rise again. On Sept. 21 Cibola County reported 406 total positive cases, on Sept. 28, one week later, Cibola reported 422 total positive cases, a 3.6 percent rise in cases.

Absentee voting by mail or in person

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M - Voters may cast an absentee ballot or vote in person at their local County Clerk’s office or an early voting location prior to Election Day. No excuse is required to vote with an absentee ballot, according to the New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver.

Community bands together to support Thunderbird Lanes; Bowling is good exercise

GRANTS, N.M. - Thunderbird Lanes bowling alley has been providing a fun activity and service to the Grants community. Fidel Encino bought the building in 1976. Fidel and Sandra Encino were married in 1988 and Sandra has been a part of the business for 32 years.

CGH offers seasonal flu clinic

GRANTS, N.M. – Cibola General Hospital is offering area residents influenza inoculations at a drive-through clinic this Friday, Sept. 25. The Cibola Family Health Center, which is part of CGH, is hosting the annual event from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., 1423 E Roosevelt Ave., Grants.
