Healthcare and its CostsDear editor, Update to my last letter about the PHI Emergency Helicopter Medical Transport. They called back to advise they were called at 7:00 PM, but no pilot for the helicopter was available until 8:00 am the morning we needed them. At least they were honest about it.

Medical Helicopter Bills for Cibola County ResidentDear editor, I took my wife of 33+ years at 3:30 AM to the Cibola Hospital last week. The doctor requested that she be taken via ambulance to Albuquerque right away.

In Cibola County, survivors of sexual assault have long faced an unfair and deeply harmful barrier: there has been no Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program here. Survivors needing a medical forensic are forced to travel sometimes an hour or more to another county.
