Grants Woman Arrested for Battery

GRANTS, NM – On May 1, Grants Police Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of Roosevelt Avenue in reference to a “physical disturbance” according to an arrest report. Police arrested 55-year-old Betty Watson of Grants for Battery Against a Household Member.

Triple Murder Charge

PUEBLO OF LAGUNA – Cody Allen Charlie, 36, was charged in federal court on May 12 for allegedly committing second degree murder on three people in August.

Zuni Man Charged with Sex Abuse

ZUNI PUEBLO – 51year-old Rodney Waikaniwa was seen in federal court May 5 where he was charged with aggravated sexual abuse for an offense allegedly committed February 10. Waikaniwa is an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo and will remain in custody pending preliminary detention hearings.

Lady of the Year

The Knights of Columbus Council #3683 would like to present the Lady of the Year, Marie Pena. Pena has been a pillar of the community for many years. This past weekend she was awarded the Lady of the Year at the Knights of Columbus state convention in Albuquerque.
