MILAN, NM – On May 15, 2023 the Village of Milan hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the upgrades of the soccer complex. The upgrades consist of a new concession stand, restrooms, and storage area which have been added to the existing soccer field this year.

Battery Leads to Tasing

GRANTS, NM – Grants man Bevis John was arrested on May 11 for assault and battery. According to a police report, police were called to John’s sister’s house because of an alleged fight.

New Attorneys take Oath to Practice Law in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE – Seventy-two new attorneys were admitted to the practice of law in the state of New Mexico during a swearing-in ceremony today. “I encourage you to find a way to serve others in need of legal services,” Chief Justice C.

Financial Risk in NM

GRANTS, NM - NM State Auditor Joseph Maestas and State Treasurer Laura Montoya have issued a joint alert to all counties and municipalities throughout the State. This is due to collateralization laws and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation guidance being inconsistently followed across the State.

Homicide in Grants

GRANTS, NM – The City of Grants, New Mexico, was rocked by a homicide on Smith Street on May 15 in the afternoon. Police quickly apprehended a suspect who, according to multiple police reports of the incident, admitted to committing the murder.
