Protecting Cibola’s Students

GRANTS, N.M. – Grants High School and Los Alamitos Middle School in Grants, New Mexico have both been on lockdown over the past week due to scares at both schools. On September 23, GHS was evacuated after central office staff thought they heard a gunshot.

Construction on a New Mesa View and Bluewater Elm to Start Soon

GRANTS, N.M. – According to Superintendent Max Perez, the project to build a new Mesa View Elementary School is estimated to take place in the spring of 2023, sometime between March and April is the projected date. It will be built adjacent to the current Mesa View in the empty field.

Cibola Without Phone Service

A phone service outage on September 21 left all of Cibola, chunks of McKinley, and other parts of New Mexico without cell service. This outage also affected certain internet providers in Cibola,;residents with RedBolt Broadband and Sacred Winds Communications services were unaffected.

Double Six Art Gallery Robbed Twice

GRANTS, N.M. – A string of robberies is hampering the City of Grants. For months, Grants residents have been dealing with petty burglaries, lawbreakers going into residential yards and stealing lawn ornaments and the like.

MPD Discovers Missing Texas Woman

MILAN, N.M. – The Village of Milan Police Department recently discovered a missing Texas woman in Cibola County. After speaking with the woman, they determined that she had left Texas on her volition due to family arguments, and was not in danger.

MILAN, N.M. – Albuquerque, New Mexico, woman Lupe Sanchez has been arrested after allegedly sending a handwritten letter with drugs inside to the Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan, N.M.
