Dog tests positive for rabies in Curry County

SANTA FE, N.M. – A 10-month-old dog in Curry County tested positive for rabies – the second dog in the state to do so in the past ten months.The dog was euthanized after displaying aggressive behavior and neurologic signs. It had not been vaccinated against rabies.

Sexually transmitted infections decline

SANTA FE, N.M. – Syphilis rates in New Mexico fell 18.6% and congenital syphilis rates dropped 32.4% from 2024 to 2025, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) announced this week as the state marks STI Awareness Week.
