    Cibola County, An Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph (Maple Mount, Ky.) who ministered in Grants is one of 12 Sisters celebrating major anniversaries of religious profession in 2025.

    Sister Elaine Burke is celebrating her 75th year of religious life. She was director of religious education, parish minister, and music teacher at St. Teresa Parish, Grants, from 1988-91. A native of Louisville, Ky., she also ministered in Bloomfield, in Kentucky, and Nebraska. Since 2020, she has binded quilts for the Mount Quilt Club. She continues to volunteer at the Owensboro RiverPark Center, which she has done since 1992.
