September 11, 2026 - 25th Anniversary Remembrance
GRANTS, N.M. Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, we ask that you join us in remembering a day that forever changed our nation.
Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, our country experienced an unimaginable act of terrorism. Thousands of innocent lives were lost, families were forever changed, and Americans watched events unfold that none of us would ever forget.
But September 11th is remembered for more than the tragedy of that day.
It is also remembered for what happened afterward.
In the face of fear and uncertainty, Americans came together. Firefighters, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement officers, members of our military, dispatchers, healthcare workers, and countless ordinary citizens answered the call to serve. Some ran toward danger. Others cared for the injured, searched for the missing, protected our communities, defended our nation, or simply reached out to help a neighbor.
Across America, people put aside their differences. We were not divided by where we came from, what uniform we wore, what job we held, or what we believed. We stood together as Americans.
In the years that followed, thousands of men and women of the United States Armed Forces served our country around the world. At home, generations of firefighters, EMS professionals, law enforcement officers, emergency dispatchers, and other public servants have continued answering the call every day - often without knowing what awaits them when that call comes.
As we live beneath the American flag, we remember all who lost their lives on September 11th. We remember the families who carried that loss forward. We honor those who served that day, those who answered our nation's call in the years that followed, and those who continue to serve our communities and our country today.
And perhaps most importantly, we remember something September 11th taught an entire generation: America is strongest when we stand together.
May this flag remind us that despite our differences, we share one country, one community, and a responsibility to look after one another.
We will remember those we lost. We will honor those who serve.
And we will never forget.
