LAGUNA, N.M. – Laguna Police Department attempted to stop an erratic driver on Interstate 40. The driver was reportedly causing near-accidents when LPD caught up with him.

GRANTS, N.M. – Wearing a black hat, black hoodie, a light blue surgical mask and blue jeans, a man walked into the Wells Fargo bank on First Street in Grants, New Mexico and brandished a handgun. He demanded money from the bank teller, and in the afternoon of June 7, he walked out of the building.

Grants Riverwalk Has Seen Better Days

GRANTS, NM – After learning that the Fifth Street pump would be down for four to eight weeks, the City of Grants has decided to focus on a detailed cleaning of the Riverwalk area, specifically on the north end.

GRANTS, N.M. – The “L Bar Ranch” outside of Grants, New Mexico has long been private property. New Mexico officials have announced that L Bar property has been purchased, and will become the largest state-owned recreational property in the state.

ZUNI MOUNTAINS, N.M. – A fire started around 10:40 a.m. on June 9, the fire grew rapidly, destroying structures and creating evacuees out of Cibola residents. At 3:50 p.m. the fire was 100 acres, by 9 p.m. it had ballooned to 300 acres.

Election Night Victories

Cibola County went to the polls on Tuesday, June 7 to elect the candidates they want to see go head-to-head in the general election. Few local elections in Cibola County were contested.

GRANTS, N.M. – City of Grants saw significant sales of marijuana in May. Marijuana is a quickly growing industry in New Mexico, and Grants is seeing a boom in sales since recreational use of the drug was legalized. Through the month of May, the City of Grants saw $165,851.
