Sheila K. Heppler, age 76, of Broken Bow, departed this life, October 11, 2020, in Paris, Texas. Graveside services for Sheila will be, Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 2 p.m., at the Crown Hill Cemetery, with Bro. Pete Wilson officiating.

Sheila was born on May 6, 1944, to Clarence Bates and Della (Owings) Bates, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She and Dennis Heppler were united in marriage, February 10, 1962; in Grants, New Mexico, they enjoyed 58 years together before her passing.

Sheila loved planting flowers, animals, and fishing. She was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She volunteered for Celebrate Recovery here locally and in the prison ministry in Grants, N.M. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Della Bates; brothers, Tommy Clayton Bates and Jerry Lynn Bates; daughter-in-law, Donna Jo Heppler.

She is survived by her husband: Dennis Heppler, of the home; children: Mark Wayne Heppler and wife, Jayne, of Ruidoso, N.M., Michael Lee Heppler, of San Rafael, N.M., Terry Lynn Heppler, of Heavener, Okla., and Leo Lawrence Heppler and wife, Grace, of Edmond, Okla.; brother: Donald Keith Bates and wife, Aileen, of St. Cloud, Florida; sister: Phyliss Sharon White, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
