Auntie Val was the “cool auntie” and covered up for her nieces and nephews, kept their most guarded secrets, and would come to their aid – no questions asked. Val took many kids into her home who were facing hard times within their own homes. She was called “Mom” by so many. The kids knew if they needed a meal or a safe place to stay, they could turn to Val as she would not turn anyone away.

Valerie attended Grants High School and worked in the auto parts industry. She was assistant manager at Checker’s and delivered auto parts in the Phoenix area for several years before moving back to Grants.

Fly high with the angels, sister. Your absence will leave a gigantic void on this earth.
