Humanitarian crisis

Dear Editor:

As many suspected, the Vice President’s pit stop in El Paso was simply to check a box. She talked to immigration activists, but didn’t have time to listen to the farmers, ranchers, and residents who live in our border communities. She didn’t hear how the situation in cities like El Paso, where families readily turn themselves in to U.S. authorities, is starkly different than what’s happening along the rural sections of the border. In my district, where President Biden halted border wall construction, illegal immigrants coming across do not want to be caught. The humanitarian crisis at major ports of entry must be addressed; but the gang and cartel activity, the trafficking and smuggling that comes across our border in the dark of night cannot be ignored and it cannot be understood in a four-hour layover in El Paso.

Learning from mistakes

Dear Editor:

Well I guess after the Jan 6th riot Capital Police decided it was time to start arresting people, to my surprise it was Jessie Jackson, and 21 others Revs. Jesse Jackson, William Barber arrested in protest urging Manchin to nix filibuster (msn.com). Chief of Capitol Police who resigned after the riot because Nancy Pelosi requested it said, Ex-Capitol Police Chief Says Requests For National Guard Denied 6 Times In Riots : Capitol Insurrection Updates : NPR. I don’t blame the Capitol Police too much having to work with the many left wing congress representatives who want to let people wander the halls like tourist so as not to upset potential voters or lobbyists that give them money, Capitol Police faced equipment shortage during Jan. 6 attack (msn.com). Yep, the defund the police is nothing new, many small police departments seldom have all the equipment or personnel they need, the Capitol Police are no different. Congress is always more about getting benefits for themselves and not concerned the police protecting them are properly equipped, Salaries and Benefits of US Congress Members (thoughtco.com). Nancy is the highest paid with $ 223,500 yearly, guess she has an interest in keeping Democrats in the majority so she can keep that good salary. With congress doing oversight hearings all the time on everything under the sun I often wonder why they only have hearings until after something goes bad, Hearing on Jan. 6 violence exposes stark partisan divisions | WTOP. I have heard is said all my lifetime many ways by many older people we never seem to learn by our mistakes, and each generation must start over and try to fix everything by making more laws. Incase you have not been paying attention our President is right up there with Nancy and the rest of the Democrats and is going to FIX EVRYTHING! Joe Biden has been in office 47 years, Joe Biden Has Spent 47 Years in Washington With Almost Nothing to Show For It by Madgie Nicolas (townhall.com). Nancy has been in office for 33 years, How long has Nancy Pelosi been in office? (thesun.com). Lest see that is a total of 90 years for both, you would think by now they would have done something to help the country without having to FIX EVERYTHING by NOW? Joe Biden is worth 9 million, Joe Biden Net Worth 2021 - How Did Joe Biden Earn His Money? (townandcountrymag.com), and Nancy is worth 120 million, Nancy Pelosi Net Worth is $120 Million (Updated For 2020) (moneyinc.com). Wow I guess Joe has some catching up to do, maybe he is just a little slower than Nancy, you think? But do not worry they are going to rescue us form the evils that Donald Trump unleased by reversing all his policies and save us from higher gas prices, unemployment, illegal immigration, and global warming just to mention a few!

Signed.
