Setting the record straight

Dear Editor:

For your information: Councilman Erik Garcia, the Desert Storm Memorial at the corner of 5th Street and Santa Fe Ave was weeded, cleaned and polished by Sherman McCoy, Yvette Gonzales, and Orrie Gonzales.

The New Mexico flag that was tattered and tangled in the trees was replaced by Yvette Gonzales. It was put up by the city workers.

The dirty and faded flowers were replaced by Yvette and Orrie Gonzales.

Since the memorial was coordinated by the late Johnny Gonzales, we try to clean it regularly.
