Raul T. Martinez, 62, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on October 22, 2020. A priest from St. Teresa’s Church in Grants will give a grave side service to celebrate the life of Raul on his birthday, August 13, 2021, at 11 a.m.
Raul was born on Friday August 13, 1958, to Celia and Celestino Martinez in Grants NM. (My dad told me it was the luckiest day of their lives.) He was always joking, talking smiling and laughing. He was the type of person that would help anyone and not expect anything in return.
He is survived by his children: Christy Martinez, Raul Martinez (Karina) and Nicholas Martinez; four grandchildren: James Valdes, Santos Valdez, Yvette Martinez and Destiny Martinez; four siblings: Johnny Martinez, Tina Martinez (Art), Margaret Griego (Tony) and Ignacio Martinez; his girlfriend: Mika Rascon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
His burial took place on November 3, 2020, in Seboyeta, New Mexico. (The Catholic church was closed due to the pandemic.) A special thank you to Pastor Adolph Padilla from Brother and Sisters in Christ Ministries in Albuquerque. He was present for the viewing at Compassion Mortuary in Grants, NM and gave a beautiful sermon at the burial.
