Maria Elena Sanchez (Helen) was born on March 1, 1947 to Jose T and Virgilia Sanchez (Sarracino) from Cubero, N.M., and passed away on October 7, 2021.
Funeral services for Maria Elena Sanchez will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Way the Truth and the Life at 1 p.m. 700 Sakalares Boulevard. Reception to follow after the services.
Helen graduated in 1967 from Laguna Acoma High School. She lived in Grants for most of her life. She loved her children, grandchildren, and family with all her heart. She lived to the fullest and had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by son: Francisco Martinez; daughters: Libby Montoya (Joe Montoya) and Hila Martinez; grandchildren: Raquel Munoz, Reyes Salazar, Agustin Chavez, Amber Aragon, Ronnie Aragon, and Crystal Aragon; her bothers: Kelly Sanchez (wife Mary Lou) of Grants, Richard Sanchez (wife Pauline) of Socorro, Louie Sanchez of Albuquerque, Clemente Sanchez (wife Georgia) of Grants; sisters: Clorinda Brito (Ralph Lucero) of Grants, Florinda Armijo (Esquiel) of Seboyeta, Marilyn and Carolyn Sanchez of Belen, Becky Hopinkah of Cubero; sister-in-law: Toni Sanchez of Mesa, A.Z.; 22 greatgrandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents: Jose and Virgilia; brothers: John Jackie, Allen; sister: Annie Apodaca; daughter: Eloisa Sanchez; greatgrandson: Nathaniel Griego; maternal grandparents: Clemente and Antonia Sarracino; paternal grandparents Jose and Elena Sanchez.
