Gilbert Waconda

Body

Gilbert Waconda, a multi-talented artist, guided an art camp for young people Saturday, June 23. The students learned to make dreamcatchers. They are symbolic in American indigenous cultures. According to legend, the good dreams pass through the center of the hole to the sleeping person. The bad dreams are trapped in the web, where they perish at the light of dawn. The students were attentive and helped each other. Mr. Waconda was patient and utilized humor in his lesson. His next art camp, July 16, is entitled “Christmas in July” beginning at 1 p.m. Call the Double Six Art Gallery at 505-287-7311 for more details. The arts are for everyone! 66 Art Gallery – Courtesy Photos
