Albert Blea,74 of Grants passed on April 15, 2022. Mr. Blea was born May 4, 1947 to Jesus and Alvina Blea in Albuquerque, N.M. On Friday April 22, 2022 at St. Teresa Of Avila Catholic Church a Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Then at 10:00AM a Mass will be celebrated by Deacon Timo Lujan. VFW Post #3221 will be providing Military Honors.

The Internment will take place on Friday July 15, 2022 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. He enjoyed reading, welding art pieces for his wife June, telling fantastic stories about Vietnam, his father and the history of Grants, and making the best red chile in the Blea and Sanchez family. He was devoted to his faith and family. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

He was survived by his loving wife of 52 years June Blea and two daughters Jamie and (Fred) Warr and Kelie and (Chris) Mirabal. His brother Robert Blea and his wife Alice of Colorado Springs, Co. His sister Teresa Blea and Herman Vialpando of Bernalillo, NM and sister Jo Ann Polinski and husband Joseph of Spring Lake, North Carolina. Grandchildren Mitchell and Trevor Warr and Riane, Liam and Peyton Mirabal. In-laws Gloria and Gerry Weddle and Sally Zamora Tim and Denise Lujan, Jill Lujan, Troy and Walter Sarracino, Patricia and Jo Romansky. Further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is Preceded in death by his Parents Jesus and Alvina Blea.

Albert Blea was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He worked for over 30 years in telecommunications. He retired from the telephone company and then became a Cibola County School Bus driver for over ten years and was an owner of JJ’s Snack Shack at NMSU-Grants Branch for eleven years. Albert’s proudest accomplishments were his time in Vietnam as a load-master for the Air Force, being a husband, father and grandpa. People will remember his many great stories, his graceful dance abilities which he shared with his wife and his pride in his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be His Grandchildren Riane Mirabal, Liam Mirabal, Peyton Mirabal,Trevor Warr and Mitchell Warr. Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
