Elise ‘Alice’ Griego

Alice was born on May 30, 1933 in Rivera, New Mexico and passed on September 27, 2020 in Grants N.M. Funeral mass for Elise “Alice” Griego, 87 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Friday, October 2 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. A Rosary will be held on October 1 at 6 p.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

She is survived by her four loving daughters: Patsy Serna and husband Alex Serna, Shirley Gonzales and husband Tommy Gonzales, Lisa Gonzales and husband Teddy Gonzales, Tanya Griego; sisters: Barbara Aguliar, Mary Bustos, Gloria Lopez; brothers: Willie Rivera and Tony Rivera.

Alice had 20 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Antonia and Gaspar Rivera; brothers: Author Rivera, Paul Rivera, Manuel Rivera; sister: Josie Chavez; husband: Andy Griego; daughters: Lilly Melonas and Darlene Alire.

Pallbearers: Julie Trujillo, Michael Garcia Jr. Tracy Gonzales, Fabian Boudy Melonas, Amanda Smith, Matthew Gonzales.

Honorary pallbearers: Samuel Gonzales, Andrea Gonzales, Jeremiah Fierro, Marcus Garcia.
