Estelle Sims-Juteau passed away on January 23, 2021 at the age of 93. A public mass in her honor will be held at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Grants, N.M. at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 17. A graveside service will follow.

Estelle was born July 5, 1927, in St. Marguerite, Quebec, Canada and moved to the United States in 1969, following the mining industry. Many wonderful years were spent in Grants, New Mexico until her move to Colorado where she settled and lived the remainder of her life in Lakewood.

Estelle loved to cook, keep everyone fed and help anyone in need. She thrived on entertaining and spending time with friends and family. Her hobbies included everything from dancing, gardening, knitting slippers and socks, reading, ‘playing money’ at the casinos and road trips with her friends. Estelle was known as a loving, giving and assertive person who was full of personality and life.

Estelle is survived by her children: Claudette Morash (Wayne), Claude Juteau (Celine), Ivon Juteau, Pierre Juteau (Laura); and as-a-daughter: Michelle Hanninen. She is also survived by her two sisters, Cecile and Jeannine; her grandchildren: Debbie, Lisa, Brian, Nicole, Brigitte, Jenna, Jeanette, Randy, Natalie, Janelle; her great-grandchildren: Nicole, Jen, Kyle, Melanie, Mathew, Megan, Jayden, Austin, Leah, Gage, Deonte, Makiajah, Jasmine, Brookes, Paige, Logan and Connor; great greatgrandchildren: Laffaette and Brenden; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Arthur Tremblay and Eva St-Gelais; her husbands: Louis Juteau and Frank Sims; her sisters: Irene, Lucia, Lucienne and Irene; her brothers: Lawrence, Lucien, Gerard, Jean Baptisse and François; as well as her grandson: Derrick and two sons at a young age in 1949 and 1953.
