Ilene Nadine Chavez

Ilene Nadine Chavez, 50, of Acoma, New Mexico began her journey home November 13, 2020.

Ilene was known to us all as a loving, mother, grandmother sister, auntie, cousin and friend. The list could go on as she was a major part of our lives. Due to the pandemic there will be a private graveside service, at Acoma Mt. Peace Cemetery on Thursday November 19, 2020. At a later date, a memorial will be held for family and friends.

Ilene was a dedicated member of The Way, The Truth and The Light. Ilene enjoyed doing her pottery and is well known for her cooking, and spending time with her family.

Ilene was born in Albuquerque, N.M. July 20, 1970. She was a member of the Pueblo of Acoma, N.M.nd lived in Grants, N.M.

She is survived by her boyfriend: Darrell Vallo; daughter: Juanita Chavez and fiancé Dylan Yazzie; two grandchildren: Kara and Luka; mother: Velma Deez husband Phil of Grants; father: Albert Jaramillo of Las Cruces; sisters: Daisy Akoul, husband Jack of Florida, Jackie Jaramillo of California, Kathryn Johnson, fiancé Robert of Grants, Rebbeca Harrison, husband Gary of Las Cruces, Philina Deez of Las Vegas Nevada; brothers: Clifford Johnson and wife Treva of Acoma, Daniel Chavez, wife Diane of Acoma, Carl Johnson, wife Annette of North Carolina, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ilene was preceded in death by her loving son: Nathaniel Victorino; biological mother: Alyce Johnson; brother: Stanley Johnson; and grandmother: Daisy Chavez.
