Ismael M. Baca

Ismael M. Baca, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home in Grants, New Mexico. He was born on July 5, 1931.

A committal service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Grants Memorial Park located on Roosevelt Ave. The Reverend Father Alberto Avila will officiate.

Ismael served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed western movies, all types of music, watching the news, spending time with his dog “Lady” and above all, being surrounded by family.

Ismael had been married to his loving wife Priscilla of 61 years. They had 6 children, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Ismael enjoyed life to the fullest. He always had a firm handshake and a warm smile. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ismael is survived by his children, Irene, John, Ernest, Leonard and Darlene; his sibling Libby.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Priscilla, and son Walter; his parents Procopio and Luz; brothers, Procopio Jr., Telesfor, Antonio (Tony) and Fermin; sisters, Selsa and Emily (Millie) and granddaughter Jennifer.

The family would like to thank the Loyal Service Agency and offer special thanks to caregivers, Lawrence, Melanie and Sarah for their compassion, friendship, and skilled assistance. Special thanks also to his nurse, Cookie.
