Michael Edward Trisler

Michael Edward Trisler, age 65, a longtime resident of Milan, New Mexico, passed away at his home on Friday, September 18, 2020. A private graveside memorial was held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Grants Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Garland Moore.

Mike was born on September 6, 1955, in Las Cruces, N.M., to James Trisler and Amelia Gomez. He was a Grants High School alumnus who graduated in 1974. He married Patricia Trisler in 1981 and divorced two decades later. They were blessed with two children, Jacklyn and Michael and stepson Chris Trujillo.

A hard worker, he devoted his life to taking care of his family. He worked several jobs to include a purchasing agent at Gulf Minerals and Resources, a sales manager at Delta Tire, and later moved on to Western (Giant) Refinery until his retirement in 2015.

Mike will be remembered as a free-spirited and sometimes wild man that enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, liked anything with a motor and wheels that went fast, and loved his children, grandchildren and pets. Above all, he cared for his family and made sure they were cared for as well.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Amelia Gomez; his fa ther: James Trisler; and brother-in-law: Willie Goodson.

Mike is survived by his daughter: Jacklyn Trisler, of Grants, N.M.; his son and daughter inlaw, Michael and Sheila Trisler of Oceanside, California; and stepson and daughter-in-law: Chris and Felicia Trujillo of Santa Fe, N.M. He will be dearly missed by Jackie’s children: Daniel and Nevaeh; Michael’s son: Anthony; and Chris’s children: Christopher Jr., Brian, Brittany, Brandon, Christian Michael, Christlyn Rose, Christiana Rosemary, Christopher Caleb, Valerie, Jeff, and Jasmine. He is also survived by his sister: Anna Goodson of Grants, N.M. and his many nieces and nephews.
