Passing of Legendary Grants Coach

The Cibola Citizen has learned that two-time state championship winning coach, Ron Bohls, age 85, passed away on December 20 at Sun City West, Arizona on Tuesday, December 20. Coach Bohls, who was known for having charisma and a unique personality and for using non-traditional coaching methods, won a state championship in 1970 and 1986 with the Grants High School boys’ basketball program. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth 'Betty' Ann Bohls who passed away on July 9, 2022 at the age of 82. Back in 2015, the Grants High School gymnasium was named 'Ron Bohls Court' in his honor. Franklin Romero - CC
