Perla S. Jaramillo

Perla S. Jaramillo was born March 22, 1930 in Grants, New Mexico and entered eternal rest on January 11, 2023 at her daughter’s residence in Milan, New Mexico. She was 92 years of age. On Wednesday January 18, 2023 at 9:30AM a rosary will be recited with a Mass at 10:00AM at St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Ms. Jaramillo was born and raised in Grants, New Mexico and lived there all her life. She met her late husband at 16 years old and they were together up until his death in 1995. Perla loved to read but most of all she loved to dance. Perla was a very happy and kind person. She was a very caring mother and grandmother to all her children and grandchildren. She was known as the “tortilla queen” and always had fresh tortillas made. Everyone knows Perla from her day of working at Laura’s Dress Shop. She was deeply loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her Children: Leroy Jaramillo (Gloria), Christine Jones (Paul Gonzales), and Mario Jaramillo; Sisters: Elaine Cervantes (Alex) and Angie Roldon; Grandchildren: Roy Jones, LeeAnn Maddox, Isaac Jaramillo, Rebecca Jaramillo and Melissa Ertel; Great-Grandchildren 13.

She is preceded in death by her Husband: Marcelino Jaramillo Jr.; Children: Bernie and Carmelita Jaramillo; Grandchildren: Ryder Nelson; Siblings: Rebecca Serna, Johnny Serna, Mary Serna, Gilbert Serna, Raymond Serna, Polly Lopez and Bessie Serna; Parents: Solomon and Lauteria Serna.

Pallbearers include Fred Cervantes, Mike Cervantes, Steve Cervantes, Daniel Cervantes, Steve Lopez and Mike Cordova.

Honorary Pallbearers include Joann Molina, Bertha Jaramillo, Paul Gonzales, Dr. Karl Gutierrez, Eddie Knots, Jason Knots, Eddie Trujillo and Tina Barela-Jaramillo.
