Stephen Richard Murrietta

Stephen Richard Murrietta passed away on October 18, 2021 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, he was 65 years of age. Stephen was born on September 2, 1956 in Grants, New Mexico.

Stephen retired as a mechanical welder with Tri-State generation and transmission power plant. He was a talented carpenter and wood worker. He volunteered as a basketball coach, softball coach and player, he enjoyed his Harley Motorcycle, hunting, drawing, and cars. He was an avid Redskins fan. His family will always remember his love, and all the time they spent making memories. He was loved and will be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Tracy Murrietta. His Father; Alfonso Murrietta. His children; Raymond Murrietta and his wife Carina. Crystal Murrietta-Cole and her husband Richard. Stephanie Murrietta-Chavira and her husband Roy. Jessica Martinez and her husband Colin. And Kenny Wheeler. Ten grandchildren; Alessandra Murrietta, Andrea Murrietta, Alexis Martinez, Preston Cole, Marissa Cole, Lilliana Chavira, Ronan Chavira, Izabelle Martinez, Alenna Martinez, and Jax Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Rica Murrietta.

On Wednesday October 27, 2021 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church a Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM. Then at 10:00 AM a Mass will be celebrated by Father Faustinus Ibebuike. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include; Raymond Murrietta, Roy Chavira, Kenny Wheeler, Colin Roberts, Richard Cole, Preston Cole, Ronan Chavira, and Jax Roberts.

Honorary Pallbearers include; Alessandra Murrietta, Andrea Murrietta, Alexis Martinez, Marissa Cole, Lilliana Chavira, Izabelle Martinez, and Alenna Martinez.
