Steve Roman Chavez of Belen, New Mexico passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2020 in Montana. A rosary will be held Friday, October 2 at 9 a.m. at St. Vivian’s followed by mass.

Steve served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years; he was stationed in Chicago, Illinois.

He became a career miner, working in Montana, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.

Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and clowning around.

He is survived by his children: Alexis, Melissa, Marlaina, Trystan, Myrissa, Joshlyne, Estevan, and Veronica; his parents: Billy and Rita Chavez of Milan; his brother: Clifferd and wife Vickie of Clayton, North Carolina; his sister: Yuranda and her husband Darin Baldwin of Absarokee, Montana; four nephews; numerous aunts and uncles; lots of cousins and friends.
