Tomas C. Garcia

Tomas C. Garcia was born in San Rafael, N.M. February 23, 1932. He peacefully passed away on January 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was 90 years old.

Tomas lived a full productive life. He was a man that was constantly busy and wore many hats. Not only was he a great husband, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a miner, owner of Palomas Bar and lifelong member of La Morada for 60 years in San Rafael, NM. He was a man of great integrity, wisdom and knowledge always looking out for his family and friends. He spent the majority of his life riding his horse “Tank”. He loved his ranch life and tending to his cows and spending time with family and making sure they were taken care of. Tomas was a very generous person always helping anyone in need. He loved to read and watch rodeos on TV.

He is survived by his son: Felix Garcia and wife Patsy Garcia; son: Augustin (Tino) Garcia and partner Teri Saavedra; son: Ruben Garcia and wife Theresa Garcia; son: Tony Garcia; daughter: Cindy Archuleta and husband Chris Archuleta; daughter: Sally Saavedra and husband David Saavedra; daughter: Ruby Garcia and husband Teddy Atencio; son: Eric Garcia and wife Melissa Gallegos, all residing in San Rafael, N.M.

Tomas is preceded in death by wife: Nicholas V. Garcia; his son: Ruben Garcia; granddaughter: Stephanie Archuleta; grandson: Lucas Garcia; grandson: Dustin Jaramillo. Tomas is preceded in death by both his parents and siblings. His parents: Augustine and Modesta Garcia. His siblings: Ray Garcia, Beautrice Tafoya, Araella Seguritan.

Pallbearers are Erick Garcia, Markos Garcia, Augustine Molina, Austin Garcia, Josh Chavez, Jose Chavez, Daniel Kerzel and Joesph Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are David Saavedra Jr., Matthew Saavedra, Dante Garcia, Nate Porter, Dominic Archuleta, Jesse Molina, Nathan Torrez, Lucas Garcia and Dustin Jaramillo.
