Virginia Atencio, 88, was born in McFee County, Colorado on April 1, 1932. She passed away on November 30, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico. A private family viewing took place on December 7.
Virginia worked in insurance sales, was employed as a guard at a New Mexico correctional facility and retired from a career working for the City of Grants. She en joyed the outdoors and camping with her dogs.
She is survived by a sister: Jennie Rael (Chata); husband: Fred Rael; nephew: Arthur Madrid and wife Kim.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Ernestina; father: C.L. Atencio; brothers: Manuel, Gilbert, and Elias Atencio; and her sisters: Ofeila, Benny Perez and Elda Silva.
