Veteran’s Day, a Time for Remembrance

World War I was known as “the war to end all wars.” In 1926, America adopted armistice day through congressional resolution, after many unknown American soldiers had been buried at the nations highest place of honor. However, years later, there was another war.

A Tribute to Rural Veterans

In Cibola County's heart, where mountains stand so tall, A place where heroes dwell, answering the nation's call, On Veterans Day we gather, in unity we stand, To honor those who've served, protectors of our land.

November 10 Picnic at NMSU Grants in front of the main student lobby from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. November 11 Ceremony at Memorial Park Cemetery 8 a.m. Ceremony at Veterans Memorial with March to Fire and Ice Park 11 a.m. Marine Corps Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony at American Legion Post 80 6 p.m.

The Grants FFA chapter has competed in their first competition of the year in Farmington. This is the first competition that the chapter has competed in after rechartering. Grants FFA Chapter Competes in Their First Competition After Rechartering

GRANTS, NM – The Grants FFA members competed in their first competition of the year on October 26. The FFA members traveled to Farmington to participate in the New Mexico FFA District I Leadership Development Events (LDEs).
The Cibola Arts Council held a Dia De Los Muertos celebration at the Double Six Art Gallery on November 2. The Council invited members of the community to build ofrendas to honor their loved ones that passed. The celebration included refreshments, and an opportunity to see the ofrendas built. Celebrating Dia De Los Muertos in Cibola

GRANTS, N.M. — Dia de los Muertos (Spanish for, “Day of the Dead”) is celebrated every year on November 1 and 2 to honor and remember family members that have passed away. This year, the Cibola Arts Council decided to hold a small celebration for Dia De Los Muertos at the Double Six Art Gallery.
