Funding Local Agencies

GRANTS, N.M. – At a special Grants City Council on May 6, the city decided to fund six local agencies. The agencies funded were the Cibola Arts Council, Cibola Communities Economic Development Foundation, Grants Pantry, Grants MainStreet Project Inc.

GRANTS, N.M. – In the early hours of June 2, a red truck crashed into a power pole off of Lobo Canyon in Grants, New Mexico. The accident disrupted power for several hours and left the power transformers suspended in the air, held up only by power cables.

MPD partners with Walmart to update youth tee-ball equipment

When Milan Police Chief Carl Ustupski saw that the local youth teeball’s league was short on equipment for the upcoming season, he jumped on the phone to see what he could do, and a partnership with Walmart came out of it.

Twenty-eight out-of-town members of the Route 66 Motor Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico, visited and ate lunch at the Double Six Art Gallery on Thursday, June 2. The group has been travelling Route 66, The Mother Road.

Election Information

On June 7, New Mexico went to the polls for the primary election that will give Cibola County a clear view of which candidates will be competing against each other for elected office. Because the results were not released by press time, election updates will be posted on CibolaCitizen.
