GRANTS, NEW MEXICO -- Many Americans look forward to the third Thursday in November, known as Thanksgiving Day. It’s a day to gather with loved ones, enjoy a feast, and remember reasons to be thankful. But there are different versions as to the origin of this holiday.

GCCS Athletes had a Good Season

Following necessary business, approval of agenda and minutes, and confirmation of a quorum, Mr. Jackie Sanchez, Laguna/ Acoma Jr./Sr. High School Principal spoke in remembrance of Hawks Cross Country Coach Otero, the school’s crosscountry coach.Coach Otero was a GCCS family member for 30 years.

New Transportation Studies along I-40 in Village of Milan

There are two new transportation studies along I-40 at Horizon Boulevard and Sawmill Road in the Village of Milan. The study at Horizon Boulevard is evaluating the existing interchange, while the study at Sawmill Road is evaluating the potential need for a new interchange.

GCCS is Discussing Concerns Regarding Students’ Curriculum

GRANTS, NM -- The November 11, 2024 meeting of the Grants Cibola County School Board opened with a moment of silence to recognize the passing of coach Otero who was the Cross-Country coach at Laguna-Acoma Junior, Senior High School for thirtyeight years.
