City Council Recognizes Fire Chief Robert Hays’ Retirement and 2023 Officer of The Year

GRANTS, NM – On January 20 the City of Grants a held a special city council meeting. The meeting included a retirement ceremony for Fire Chief Robert Hays, recognition of Grants Police Department officer of the year, multiple approvals of projects and appointments of individuals to various boards.
Grants/Cibola County School District is working to improve their NM Vistas scores and to improve student performance. The plans including establishing a more robust Career Technical Education Program, using more AI in the classroom, and to improve attendance of students through more engagement and family engagement. LAGUNA – Alfred Pino began his creative journey at a young age. He was born in Gallup, but raised in Laguna by his grandparents, Juan and Esther Aragon. Later, his mother learned the skill of making pottery and would give him blank pots to practice on.
