The following arrests were made by Grants Police Department. These arrests never ran in the paper, so they are being placed now to accurately reflect the arrest records in Cibola County.

Zuni Man Charged with Sex Abuse of a Minor

ZUNI PUEBLO – Stanton Hannaweeke, a 61year-old resident of Zuni and an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Zuni, appeared in federal court following a criminal complaint that charged him with aggravated sexual abuse involving children, as announced by Alexander M.M.

Traffic Report for September 25 – October 6, 2023

Cibola County Commission Opposes Governor's Firearm Restrictions

GRANTS, NM – On September 20, the Cibola County Commission held a special meeting which included one discussion action item, “Consideration of Resolution 202346 Opposing the New Mexico Governors Unilateral Suspension of the Statutory & Constitutional Civil Rights of New Mexicans.

Suspects Whose Actions Led to Governor’s Gun Ban Arrested Outside of Grants

GRANTS, NM – Albuquerque Police Department announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the shooting death of 11-year-old Froylan Villegas. The young boy was killed on September 6 while leaving an Isotopes baseball game with his family in Albuquerque.
