A New Sheriff in Town

Newly elected Sheriff Larry Diaz and Undersheriff Jeff Marez have been busy moving the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office in a new direction. “Since taking office we have been in back-toback meetings that last all day” Sheriff Diaz stated.

Michael Street Fire

GRANTS, N.M. – In the early morning of February 8, Grants Fire and Rescue was called to put out a housefire in Mt. Taylor Addition in Grants, New Mexico. The fire, on 132 Michael Street, fully engulfed the residence and left the building charred.

COVID-19 in Cibola Trough January

COVID-19 claimed the life of another Cibola County resident in January. While COVID-19 remains deadly, the US Centers for Disease Control say that wearing masks when in socially crowded areas and social distancing are the best ways to prevent catching the disease.
