Cibola County Adopts New Salary Plan

GRANTS, N.M. – The Cibola County Board of Commissioners Chamber was filled for the February 7 meeting. A majority of the seats were filled by the Sheriff’s Department. All commissioners were present for the meeting and the vote to approve the agenda was a unanimous “yes.

Community Leader, Citizen Writer Passes

GRANTS, N.M. – A community leader, friend, mentor, disc jockey, and fountain of knowledge passed away on February 15. Donn Webb was 75 when he passed, leaving this world to join his wife in eternal bliss. Webb was a man of faith. He cared deeply for his religion, his community, and his work.

NMSU-Grants Prioritizes Relationships

GRANTS, NM – At a time when many colleges in America are struggling to get enrollment back to pre-COVID numbers, NMSU-Grants has achieved the seemingly impossible. “We were the first campus in the NMSU system to return staff to in-person work,” Patrick Clingman said.
The 40th Mt. Taylor Quadrathlon Committee met February 8 for the 'Traffic Control Meeting.' This dedicated group of volunteers keep the event safe for everyone, thank you for the hard work and dedication to an event that highlights Grants and the natural beauty of Cibola County. 40th Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon

The Winter Quadrathlon Entity Meeting took place Wednesday, February 8 at the Coyote del Malpais Golf Course in Grants. The meeting covered traffic control and was headed by Race Director Isaac Atencio and Assistant Race Director Kendra Brown.

Newly elected Sheriff Larry Diaz and Undersheriff Jeff Marez have been busy moving the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office in a new direction. “Since taking office we have been in back-toback meetings that last all day” Sheriff Diaz stated.
