GRANTS, N.M. – At the Regular School Board Meeting on December 6, Superintendent Max Perez gave a recap on 24/7, a program presented before the Board in a previous meeting to change the current policies on smoking and vape products in district schools.

GRANTS, N.M. – The December 10 Holiday Light Parade was a roaring success with 500-1,000 attendees and twenty float entries. Though the noon day events began with a trickle of families by 5 p.m. the streets were packed with residents excited to view the parade.

A few decades ago, the Potters House Church started Children’s Church. The leader of Children’s Church began to have Christmas plays, which soon became a Christmas tradition. The first soloist they ever had in a play was an eight-year-old girl, who amazed the Children’s Church leader with her voice.
Milan Fire is a mostly volunteer fire department, and while it may be small, the whole crew comes together to protect the village and bring a little light into the lives of the village. For this year’s light parade down Santa Fe Avenue, Milan Fire themed their float with “Red or Green?” a traditional New Mexico question that further showcased the department’s love for their community. Zuni Man Sentenced to 10 Years

ZUNI PUEBLO – On January 9, 2021, a 51-yearold man drove through a residential area in Zuni Pueblo while firing a handgun. He struck a bystander with a bullet and was charged with “assault with a dangerous weapon and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence”.
