FBI Seeks Information in Zuni Murder

ZUNI PUEBLO – On May 4, 2020, the body of Zuni Pueblo woman Jolynn Calavaza was found in an empty parking lot in the pueblo. After an autopsy, law enforcement determined Calavaza died due to multiple stab wounds, nearly three years later this case remains cold.

Alleged Serial Killer to be Tried in Cibola

GRANTS, N.M. – Mid-January 2021 saw a gruesome triple murder occur in the City of Grants. After diligent police work, it was determined that the alleged killer, Sean Lannon – then 47 years old – had fled to his home state of New Jersey.

Youth Groups Making Grants a Clean Spot

GRANTS, N.M. – Spring will be upon us in a couple of months and the City of Grants is accepting applications for Youth Group Adopt a Spot. This program contracts youth groups to clean public areas while raising money for their organization.
The Legislative Finance Committee met on Jan. 17 to discuss the Western Interstate Hydrogen Hub that promises to bring jobs and economic growth to Cibola and McKinley Counties. While the project still has a way to go, New Mexico – and especially Cibola County – is excited for the project. Cibola sent a delegation of local government officials to represent the whole county.
