Cibola has a number of academics who shine bright, one of whom was recently named a 2022 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar. The Cibola Citizen’s own Kylie Garcia was the awardee of this prestigious title and scholarship.

CCSO Takes Pounds of Fentanyl Off the Streets

Over three pounds of Fentanyl pills have been taken off the street by Cibola County Sheriff’s Deputies. Just one Fentanyl pill can have a lethal dose, according to the US Drug enforcement Administration. According to Cibola County Sheriff Tony Mace, the bust was made along Interstate 40 on March 22.

Sexual Abuse on Navajo Nation

NAVAJO NATION – Shiprock man Bryan Bull was sentenced to 14 years in a federal prison for the aggravated sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy in Shiprock, New Mexico. The abuse took place on the Navajo Nation on June 3, 2019, according to the United States Department of Justice.
