Blood shortage hits critical records

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M – The Red Cross declared a “National Blood Crisis” on January 10. This means there is not enough life-saving blood being donated to fill the ongoing need. Several COVID-19 patients need blood, sickle cell anemia patients need blood, trauma patients need blood.

After months of stagnation, city hires a manager

CITY OF GRANTS, N.M. – Breaking months of lame duck governance, the City of Grants hired former Special Projects Manager Donald Jaramillo to be city manager. At the city meeting on December 13, all four city councilors voted in favor of elevating Jaramillo to the manager’s position.

Fires in Grants

GRANTS, N.M. – January 17 presented two major fires that the Grants Fire and Rescue teamed up with the Village of Milan Volunteer Fire Department and Cibola County Fire Command to tackle. No injuries were reported at either location.

GPD targets alleged child abuse

GRANTS, N.M. – On December 23, Grants Police Department was dispatched to the Grants Apartments on 1703 Cordova Court in Grants, New Mexico. While at the apartments they discovered two adult men, Jarvis and Langston Johnson, who were taking care of three minor children while allegedly intoxicated.
