Gun fire in Grants, shots fired in area of Washington Avenue and Nimitz Drive GRANTS, N.M. — On January 20, 2021, at around 8:30 p.m. Grants Police responded to a shot fired call in the area of Nimitz Drive and Washington Avenue.

Private prison moratorium

SANTA FE, N.M. — The New Mexico State Legislature will debate House Bill 40. This legislation, if enacted, makes it illegal for any city, village, or county to enter into an agreement or extend a contract with a private prison.
