Legislative round-up; Possible special session

SANTA FE, N.M. – The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way all things operate, including the state legislature. As if the pandemic was not enough, threats to the safety and security of New Mexicans in the state capitol caused state officials to erect a fence around the Roundhouse in Santa Fe.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — US Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, from the Pueblo of Laguna, served New Mexico in the United States House of Representatives before being elevated to the highest position of government ever held by a Native American woman.

Honoring public servants 50 flags for 50 states

GRANTS, N.M. – A Florida teenager’s artwork now graces three sites in Grants. The handcrafted pieces, which replicate the U.S. flag, were presented to Grants Fire Department, Cibola General Hospital, and Grants Police Department during the Feb. 16 ceremony.

City and village P&Z meetings

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – The City of Grants Planning and Zoning Commission met on March 10 and the Village of Milan held its P&Z session on Thursday. The sessions were available on Facebook Live but each experienced inadequate audio coverage.
