Cibola Drought Deepens as Wildfires and Water Levels Reflect Regional Strain

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. — While scattered rainfall briefly touched parts of Cibola County this month, the drought remains unchanged: 100 percent of the population— an estimated 27,213 residents—remains affected, according to the latest figures from the U.S.

Surprising Tree Facts

Tree New Mexico (TNM) is a non-profit organization that has been planting trees in the Land of Enchantment for over 30 years in urban areas both large and small. Last year we were fortunate to participate in the Tree Steward program offered by TNM.

The New Mexico Public Education Department and Los Alamos National Laboratory have yet to announce a location. To’Hajillee Man Sentenced to 17 Years in Federal Prison

TOHAJIILEE, NM – According to U.S. Department of Justice, on June 24, 2020, Antonio Chaco, a 42-year-old enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, engaged in an argument with Thomas Anthony Brown outside of Chaco’s trailer home in To’Hajiilee.

State Missing Persons Database Not Updated Despite Cleared Local Cases

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – As of July 29, only one of five recent missing persons cases reported in the Grants area remains listed in the New Mexico Department of Public Safety’s Missing Persons Clearinghouse, despite all five cases now being confirmed as resolved by local law enforcement.
