The New Mexico Activities Association’s Board of Directors met in regular session on Thursday, June 1 in the NMAA Hall of Pride and Honor. The Board of Directors elected Mr. Anthony Casados as President and Mr. Martin Madrid as Vice President for a two-year term.
As the summer temps pick up the GHS Boys’ Basketball team has been bringing up the heat on the hard floor as they have been participating in summer camps across the state. Head coach Landon Chavez said, 'This summer has been great---we finished 6-0 at the Duke City Shootout.' Next week we will have full update on summer basketball. Franklin Romero - CC

Steve Brown has been named the new Grants High School football coach. Brown a former Pirates himself has 16-years’ experience as an assistant football coach and is currently running the summer workouts. 'Football is like life, if you get knocked down you have to get back up – It's the same thing in life – we want to create great young men and women out of this program.' Franklin Romero - CC

After 16 years as an assistant football coach, Grants native Steve Brown has garnered the head coach position of the Grants High School football team. “I just fell in love with coaching and enjoy working with the youth of our community,” said Brown.

At the recent District 5-4A meeting for baseball, our team had a fantastic showing among the award recipients! After completing a District Championship season, our kids were recognized for their hard work and dedication by being awarded the following awards!
