Grants High School Boys’ Soccer Head Coach John Malcolm celebrated his first win last week as the head coach of the GHS boys’ soccer team. Boys’ soccer defeated I-40 rival the Gallup Bengals 8-1.“This was a good win for us---we learned some good points,” said Malcolm.

This week's Athlete of the Week isClayton Arguello of the Grants High School Boys’ Soccer Team for scoring four goals for the Pirates in their 8-1 defeat of rival Gallup High School last week.

CIBOLA COUNTY SPORTS ROUND UP

The Grants High School Lady Pirate Volleyball Team is currently 0-2 and will play Miyamura on August 27.Both the GHS boys’ and Girls’ soccer teams are 0-1 after a tournament this past week.The Laguna-Acoma Hawks Boys Football Team is 0-1 after a 48-0 loss to Legacy Academy last Friday.
