Our future here in Cibola County is the responsibility of the leaders and community members living here now. It’s up to us to plan and achieve things for our children so they too can have a future in the community we grew up and live in.

Thanking community members

Dear Editor; I wanted to thank everyone that turned out for our Cibola County Cleanup at Mt. Taylor Addition this past Saturday. Grants City Councilman Erik Garcia, George Olveda, Tony Canaba, the Ford family, and many others came to help and make their community cleaner.

The new norm: ... looking up!

I watched the news this morning and logged the new COVID numbers in New Mexico today on my calendar as I have done since it came to America. I am gladdened that the number of cases has slowed tremendously as have the deaths… things are looking up!

Trailing off

What has been called a curse — “may you live in interesting times” — has been a blessing. Hot dang, what a ride, this life. Travel, adventure, romance, exclamation points.

New Mexico, land of the free?

Dear Editor; I’m really getting tired of the arrogant “elite” in government and the media restricting our freedom because we are “archaic” New Mexicans. For example, SB 10 Repeal abortion ban was hailed as decriminalizing abortion.
