The Cibola Citizen hosted its Coffee with the Citizen event on February 12, drawing a strong turnout from local business leaders, nonprofit organizations, and even a representative from the Navajo Times. The event provided an open forum for community members to share their thoughts and concerns, with a key takeaway being the community’s desire for more local-focused news coverage.
Among the attendees was longtime community member Jonnie Head, who received a red rose from Double Six Arts Gallery Executive Director Eric Sedillos. With her hands full, she playfully held the rose in her mouth.
The event reinforced the vital role of local journalism in fostering dialogue and ensuring the voices of Cibola County residents are heard. Community members expressed a strong interest in more coverage of local events, organizations, and initiatives—something the Cibola Citizen is committed to prioritizing.
Whether publishing 12 or 16 pages per week, the goal remains the same: to provide readers with a full and fair view of their community. We welcome feedback and encourage residents to share their thoughts on how we can better serve them.
