Biden endorses Ben Ray Luján

NAMBÉ, N.M. - Former Vice President and presidential candidate Joe Biden announced his endorsement of Ben Ray Luján to be the next U.S. Senator for New Mexico, days earlier former President Barack Obama had endorsed Luján.

"Congressman Ben Ray Luján is a proven leader and a champion for New Mexicans who has dedicated his career to improving the lives of those in his community,” said Vice President Joe Biden. “During the pandemic, he has helped craft legislation like the CARES Act to deliver the resources New Mexicans need now and to rebuild during and after the crisis. I am proud to endorse him to be New Mexico's next senator and look forward to working together. I know he will help our country recover from COVID-19, increase access to affordable health care, and expand economic opportunities for New Mexicans.”

In his endorsement of Luján, Vice President Biden cited Luján’s work to deliver the resources New Mexicans need during the COVID-19 pandemic, increase access for affordable, quality health care for Americans, and bring economic opportunities to New Mexico.

In his endorsement of Luján and other candidates across the country, President Obama cited their work to help the country during COVID-19, protect health care for Americans, and expand economic opportunities.

He also reminded Americans the importance of voting this election and encouraged everyone who can to vote early. In New Mexico, in-person absentee voting starts on October 6th.
