GRANTS, N.M. – The Light Up Cibola winners were announced, with the $500 prize going to Furniture Zone at 200 E. Santa Fe for their unique and festive holiday light decor that moved and inspired many local residents.

Laura’s Laundry at 314 US Route 66 in Milan claimed the prize for the outside MainStreet District category.

A total of seven businesses registered to win. Five were from the Main-Street District and two outside of it. Participants were judged on the number of lights used, how well the red or green theme was followed, and cohesiveness or how well the design came together.

The contest started in 2020 as a way to light up the MainStreet District and to possibly draw I-40 drivers into the City of Grants to celebrate the holiday with locals. Will Yarborough, Executive Director of Grants Main-Street Project handed the $500 check over to Furniture Zone Manager, Valerie Ratliff.
