CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. — Cibola County voters will decide this November whether to continue a key source of local funding for Cibola General Hospital, the countyowned medical facility serving Grants and surrounding communities.
The ballot question asks voters if the Board of County Commissioners should continue a property tax of up to $4.25 per $1,000 of taxable property value for another eight-year period. The tax supports the operation and maintenance of Cibola General Hospital and is not a new levy, but rather a continuation of an existing one.
If approved, the levy will remain in place through the next eight fiscal years. If it fails, the hospital could face reduced funding for maintenance and modernization projects.
The Cibola General Hospital has advertised this mill levy for week’s seeking the community’s support.
