Bernalillo GOP spreads lies in desperate attempt to distract from Republican loses

The Republican Party of Bernalillo County recently posted a blatantly false claim, showing pho-tos of Democrats celebrating on election night 2018 and claiming that they were photos from 2020. In fact, Democrats held an entirely virtual event in 2020, which was publicly broad-cast on the Democratic Party of New Mexico Facebook page to almost 9,000 watchers. Despite multiple people pointing out the error, the Bernalillo County GOP continues to double down on their false accusations.

Yvette Herrell wins N.M. 2nd Congressional District seat

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexicans in the 2nd Congressional District sent a strong message on election night, declaring Yvette Herrell the winner with election returns showing she defeated Rep. Torres Small with 54 percent of the vote to Torres Small’s 46 percent. Herrell’s victory puts the Congressional seat back in the hands of Republicans. She’ll become a member of the nation’s 117th Congress.

City files injunction against mayor

County and hospital continue contract negotiations

GRANTS, N.M. — The Cibola General Hospital board Oct. 26 teleconferencing meeting dealt with various topics including the proposed contract with Cibola County. The board created an ad hoc committee in September to review and revise the proposal. The committee, which included Board Chair Eileen Chavez Yarborough, Vice Chair Kendra Brown, and member Joan Gilmore, worked with CGH administration and legal counsel on terms of the proposed lease and healthcare facilities’ agreement, which includes a codicil. The board and hospital officials discussed the topic again last month during closed session. Thomas Whelan, CEO, noted that the proposed contract will be submitted to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration this month for approval and to the county commission.
